Gettin' a little ahead of myself
Phew, so today was a harsh recovery from yesterday. I was soooo tired this morning, all I wanted to do was climb under my covers and sleep the day away, but I was forced up out of bed at 5:45 and dragged my tired ass self to the shower to start my day.
Today went pretty well, pretty much like any other day. I went to write the date today in one of my classes and realized how weird it is that it's already January 28th! Like, how crazy is that?! January is almost over, bring it on February!
I'm kind of excited for Fenbruary. I always hated it cause I've always hated Valentine's and thought it was a stupid holiday. But I'm a little excited for V-Day this year! I don't have a boyfriend, and I never have, but this year I think it will be just as great that I'm spending the day with some of my best girlfriends...because after all, who needs a boyfriend when you can have the greatest friends a girl could ask for? Boys are too much work, that's for later in life. Well, that's my philisophy anyway, it could just be an excuse that I hind behind ;) Ah well.
So we're going to go out to dinner and to the movies! I CAN'T WAIT to see Valentine's Day so we're going to go see that...fitting right? And then eat pink cookies and cupcakes until we throw up of course ;) And to make it even better we have a 3-day weekend that week...couldn't get any better am I right??
And maybe I'll be these little shnookers. Strawberry cupcakes with a cream cheese icing. Ugh, I want one right now.
Okayyyyyyy.
So maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself but, oh well. :)
Enjoy one of my favorite nights of the week, followed by my favorite day! And plan something special for you and your hubby, or if you're like me (phew, God bless you!) go out and have fun with your girlfriends on this Valentine's Day. Cause it's all about the love in this world baby, and there's only one day in the year that reminds us that.
Loveeeee,

A long day...
So it's 9:38 and I just got home from school. I left at 7:07 this morning (and yes, on the dot, .6 seconds later and I would have been late to homeroom, believe me I have this shit down to a T). There's something wrong with this picture.
I'm tired. My feet hurt. And I know you don't want to hear me complain but I couldn't leave you without a daily post, cause I know your days revolve around it...duh.
So I'm going to go study. Actually no, I'm gonna go look some shit over, and hopefully it'll get stuck in my head. Who knows.
I'm going to accompany myself with TastyKakes--aka, the best part of living in the Philadelphia area.
Hope you enjoyed your humpday's! Only 2 more days left, baby, we can do it! :)

Re-Do Shme-Do
So I've been thinking lately (oooh, does that make you a little nervous?! Yes, I do use this think up here called my brain, even though it takes me a little while to find it underneath all these curls I got). I really want to re-do my room. I've never really gotten a room of my own. I mean, when I was really little I shared a room with my sister Alyssa. Ugh, what a time that was. I'm actually surprised I'm still alive, cause we used to drive each other NUTS! I used to snore when I was little, (i still do, shhhh), and she used to throw stuffed animals at me to wake me up and tell me to roll over. Don't laugh--that's nothin' but the truth.
So then when I was about to enter middle school and my other sister Mindy moved out after she got married, I finally got my own room! I moved into my sister Laura's room, and she moved into Mindy's (can you keep track of these names?!?!) and I just moved my furniture into Laura's (the furniture's not even mine, mind you, they too are hand-me downs).
So yes I'm neglected. You can adopt me if you want. (Just kidding, I'm not really, it's just what you get when you're the 5th kid. Don't worry, I also get some major perks...like...my parents let me do a lot more than my sisters did at this age ;))
So after 7 years of a squeaky bed (which I swear my parents won't fix on purpose if you know what I mean), yellow walls (I'm not always that cheerful and happy, especially in the morning, so I don't need these walls to mock me), and wood furniture from 1874 (i'm aware antiques are vintage, but i'm 16. seriously? antiques are for later times in life), I'm finally ready to re-do this baby. Change it up a bit.
...But I don't know where to start...
Eh, that's for a later date I suppose. Enjoy your Tuesday nights, as much as you can enjoy a Tuesday night. I mean, they're really kinda lame.

Sniff effin' Sniff.
Okay so let me just prepare you. I have a pet peeve. What is it, you ask? SNIFF SNIFF. SNIFF SNIFF. SNIFF SNIFF.
JUST IN CASE YOU WEREN'T AWARE, SOMEONE INVENTED TISSUES. TAKE ADVANTAGE AND EFFIN' USE THEM. SERIOUSLY.
Ugh, so Friday afternoon, I'm sitting in my dreaded history class. So let me just give you a little glimpse of what this place I call Hell is like. For one, I'm sitting in this insanely uncomfortable desk that is so uncomforable that sometimes I wish I was just sitting on the floor. If that's not bad enough, it's the last period of the day, it's a Friday, and we're doing this ridiculous in-class writing assignment that asked me to "analyze the effectiveness of FDR's efforts towards the Great Depression and the ways in which his presidency changed the role of federal government." (I know you're all DYING to answer this, so I'll allow essays in comments to be acceptable)
So I bet you're wondering where my pet peeve comes in to play. I don't even know where it comes from. If I could guess, it's probably from my mom, cause I remember how she would always yell at me for sniffling while I had a cold. So besides the point, my best friend Jenn sits behind me, and during the ENTIRE...and allow me to repeat myself ENTIRE class she would sniff every 28 seconds (yes, I counted, and to be honest with you it was the only thing that kept me from suicide). And it's not even like it was a little sniffle, nor was it a huge motion where she sucked the snot out of her nose so horrendous that I wondered if there was some on my back. It was just this little monotonous "sniff sniff" that drived me absolutely insane.
Maybe I'm being too dramatic...but you know what I mean when I say my blood was BOILING!
So I ask you, all 6 (yayyy!!!) of you, what's your pet peeve? Whether it be chewing with your mouth open or pee on the toilet seat when you walk into a stall...share with me!!
More importantly, I hope you have a great night!
<3 Curlygirl
Ps. Happy Monday! Notice how I skipped right over that? ;)

Wonderful Weekend...
Happy Sunday everyone!
Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend...I know I did! Friday night I had to work the freshman dance, let me just tell you, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time! It was just too funny, and sad at the same time, to realize that I was once just like them. Phew, thank God I'm past that stage..
So yesterday I babysat my nephews all day. They're so damn cute. Richie's still in the process of being potty-trained, so while trying to get Enzo to stop crying and warming up a bottle, Richie thought it'd be a good idea to pee in the middle of the kitchen floor. Yeah, member how I said I wondered what it'd be like to have a kid at this age?...I'm much happier being the aunt. I get to hand them right back :)
And that leads me to today. Today was kinda just a lazy day, full of homework, cleaning, and doing my laundry. It's kinda nice to just lounge around though in my jammies...and my snuggie of course :) If you're new here, and don't know my deal about the "Snuggz" make sure you check out "Snuggie Obsession" a couple posts down :)
Enjoy the rest of your days guys! I wish you happy Mondays...as if that's not an oxymoron. ;)

A letter to my older self...
Dear 25 year-old Darcy,
Do you remember me...your 16 year old self? I hope you haven't put me so far back into your memory as to forget all of the lessons learned and disreguard all of the values you once had.
I hope you're doing well. I hope you persevered throughout college and grad school, and went all the way to get your Ph.D in Psychology just like you once wanted. Hopefully there is the job as an elementary school guidance counselor that you always dreamed of in your near future. Do you have any men in your life? If so, what is he like? Is he respectful, charming? Does he make you laugh when you want to cry, and let you cry when that's all you want to do? Hell, is he amazingly gorgeous and distinguished, driven, and romantic? Where did you meet? Please tell me, your younger self here needs to know when to pay special attention and not let things pass her by.
I wonder what you look like. Have you thrown in the towel yet, and gotten a chemical straightener? Have you let yourself go, or are you now obsessed with being fit? How many neices and nephews do you have, how are your sisters doing? Who are you still friends with, and who have you had a falling out with? Where are you living?
What is the best piece of advice that you can give to me?
There are so many questions I have for you...but I guess I'll have to wait until I meet you to find out. :)
Love,
16 year old Curlygirl <3
PS. ...Are you happy?

Clacking my heels together...
So I just set this as my background:
I wanna be there. I want to feel that water. I want to smell those palm trees (wait...do they smell? well in that case I want to find out if they do). I want to have sand in the deepest crevices of my bathing suit. Yes, I said it. (Brings me back to memories of being little down the shore and taking off my bathing suit when I got home and having like a pound of sand in my crotch..can someone explain to me how it got there? It's basically physically impossible yet every summer, it never ceased to show up down there).
Verrrrrp. (That's my back to reality sound, kind of like a fast forward button. And if that's not how you think they sound get over it). It's the dead of Jauary. It's cold. It's dark, for the most part. All there is is paper after paper to write. My ass is starting to have permanent seat marks from my computer chair from sitting here day after day.
So... what do I do?! How do you get out of this funk? Cause I'll let you one thing guys, looking at pictures of island paradise doesn't really do the job.
Help.

I'm out of ideas.
Ugh, my mind is blank! I don't know how you bloggers do it--God bless you! Today was one of those blank days and I have nothing remotely interesting to write about--but hell, I'm writing anyway. Because I know I couldn't leave you religous followers out in the cold! All 4 of you!!! That's right, I'm now up to 4 and love every single one of you, and if it stays this way forever, I'd be perfectly happy just to know I entered the world of blogs! (although, more followers are welcome, and very much apreciated...just kidding...no i'm not).
So I got home at 6:30 today, and fell in love. With who you ask? No one. With what, you then ask? With noodles, boys and girls. That's right. My life has just reached its ultimate low--so low that I am now falling in love with noodless. Please pray for me.
Ugh, I want more of their beefy slimy goodness. With some high sodium on the side, please and thank you.
SO can we talk Bachelor real quick?! Because I just get completely more and more enthralled with this show with every minute that I watch. The crazy bitch left! Just left! I could not stop laughing both with embarrassment for her and joy that she's gone. However, I am kinda gonna miss the drama she used to cause--wait, did I just say that? Need I remind you, the bitch is insane. I'm talking, lack of any mind whatsoever. Other than that I'm starting to really like Ella and the fact that Jake brought her son Ethan was cute--I actually felt myself tearing up (but that doesn't tell you much 'cause I'm one of those people that could cry at sad commercials)...but to be honest with you I'm not really feeling the connection between Jake and Ella. So who knows. Oh and on a final note: Elizabeth "I don't wanna kiss you do you wanna kiss me no don't kiss me" didn't get a rose and I was also very very excited. And even more so that he called her out on her mixed signals. You go, boy!
Okay enough about my weird connection to corny 'unrealistic' reality shows. I'm done.
Off to watch Teen Mom...birth control in itself...even though I do kinda wonder what it'd be like to have a kid at this age.
But I'll keep to watching it on TV instead of experiencing it in real life...
Goodnight <3

CurlyGirl

Movies, a Murder Mystery, More Movies, and Mellow Monday...
How's that for alliteration, huh??
Anyways, I'm back after a long and fabulous weekend! Friday night I did see Avatar--and converted into one of those people that sing its praises--yes, I know. But it was just so damn good. It's like 2 hours and 40 minutes where you are transported into an entirely different world, it was truly mesmerizing.
Yay for Imax 3D---deffinitely the way to see this movie.
So Saturday morning I got all packed up and headed "down the shore" (to the beach for all you non-Jersians ;) out there) to Ocean City and stayed at a Murder Mystery Bed and Breakfast! It was soooo much fun! I highly reccommend putting this on your Bucket List 'cause it is just too fun not to do during your lifetime! My name was Jillaroo, and I was a farmer in the good ol' South. And btw, I was NOT the murderer!! :) The place was so clean (a major plus) and cutely decorated, so it was all in all a good trip. We also got extra lucky with the weather, it was in the high 50s and sunny so it was nice to break free from Old Man Winter for a little and walk the boards. :)
Some of the costumes (from left to right): A rich girl, a dork, a sporty girl, a farmer (and yours truly!), a weather forecaster, a model, and a biker chick! What a good looking group!
Sunday morning we feated on one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, and headed back home (it was raining, yuck!). Last night I had a little date night with my best friend Michele! We went to go see The Lovely Bones, and I thought it was a really good movie! I was a little upset about the ending but, that's just my opinion. It was good to be out with Shel nonetheless! :)
So this brings me to Monday! By far one of the best Mondays I've had in a while, mostly because...duh...no school and sleeping in late! Ah, how I love the simple things in life. Like, waking up to your usual alarm and being able to shut it off and sleep in for another 5 hours :)By far one of the greatest feelings.
I'm pumped for the Bachelor tonight..and for all my fellow fans out there, have you seen the previews for it...TENLEY'S PREGNANT?! Of course, I had to do my research, and this is what I found...

Let's make it official, boys and girls..
Hey guys, just in case you forgot...
So I'm guessing you get the point. I'm pretty hype on Fridays...only because, yknow, it means THE WEEKEND IS HERE! Woo hoo!
Tonight, I'm finally going to see Avatar! I'm so excited, and I wanna know what all the hype is about! Then again, I may just be excited about the fact that buttery fat-ning popcorn will be accompanying me...I think it's a tie.
I'm also excited to be going to OCEAN CITY this weekend! We're staying at this "Murder Mystery" Bed and Breakfast which I'm hoping will be a lot of fun. It's like a real live game of clue--costumes and all--and you have to find out which one of you killed who (or is it whom?). So it should be great! I'll be sure to post pictures!
And last but not least...the 28375859th reason why I'm excited...3 DAY WEEKEND! That's right, y'all. God rest your soul, Martin Luther King Jr.!
Well that's enough out of me! I hope you all have FABULOUS weekends...enjoy every bit of your time off!
Love,
<3 Curlygirl
PS. A little upset about last night's episode of Grey's...was expecting a lot better. :(

Today is not Thursday...
Nope, my friends, 'tis not called Thursday anymore...it's officially GREY'SDAY. Anyone else as pumped as I am?! I absolutely love love love Grey's Anatomy and could not wait for it to come back on after taking a break for the holidays. Some say it's gotten old and boring...although somehow at the same time they are the same people who still watch the show Lost...go figure. However, I am one of the normal (debatable, i'm aware) people who still can't get enough...and end up naming my entire day after it.
If I ever contract some disease, you bet your asses I'm flying 'cross country to Seattle Grace. Let a girl dream...
So besides that, I am babysitting my nephews tonight and am so excited about that! I can't wait to see them! Richie, who is now 2 and a half (weird!) just recently pee peed and poopied on the potty (that's right ladies and gentlemen...give it up for him! and my wonderful persistant and patient sister!) so i can't wait to see him and celebrate with a big hug and kiss. And I couldn't leave little 4 month old Vincenzo without some kisses, so I won't leave him hanging...I'm all about sharing the love here, people. :)
My favorite picture of us 3, just a blown up version of the one on the side. :)
And oh right...about that paper due tomorrow... ;)
Hang in there...only one more sleep until Friday y'all!
Love,
Curlygirl <3

Hump Day
Sheesh, only 2 more days...I can do it!!!
It's not even like this week is insanely hard for me, it's just been really tiring. We've had so much work to do, and everyday it's a new assignment...but what doesn't kill me can only make me stronger, right?! Yeah, that's right up there with the whole "Don't worry, it'll all turn out okay"...quotes only designed to make you feel better about yourself but are questionable when it comes to their real merit...
...But hey, their 'bull shittyness' works on me, so I'm not complaining. :)
Anyway, Wednesday Wednesday Wednesday. Not much went down today. I started looking at a couple dresses for prom (I tried to post some on here that I love love love...but the pics aren't all that good from these stupid dress websites!) !!! :)
Hm, looks like a major diet is in order. Between prom, my sister's wedding in June, and summer coming up, I wanna get rid of this extra chub--Turbo Jam, here I come, get ready to kick my butt!!
I'd kinda rather eat one of these though.
Scratch that, I'd rather eat all of them.
Hmmph, nevertheless, happy Hump Day everyone...celebrate accordingly! :)

A new day, a new look
...Nope, not for me. My hair's still curly. It's the blog I'm talking about, that got a new makeover! I like it for now, it's cutesie (which may or may not be a word) and fresh, so it's going to do for now...that is, until I get bored and change things up.
So let's talk about change, shall we? Earlier today my best friend Michele and I were talking about "change", and how we're not fans of it--at all. Allow me to make an allusion. When I was younger, say 6 or 7 years old, I used to sleep on this really old mattress (a hand-me-down from my older sister no doubt) that had springs coming out of it and my favorite Barney sheets. Thinking they were doing me a favor, my parents bought be a new mattress, all covered in new sheets--and I freaked. I hated it. It was not the same, I missed my Barney sheets, and I REFUSED to sleep on the bed. I continued, for the next six months or so, to sleep on the floor, and would bawl my eyes out everytime the topic of my 'new bed' came up. My poor parents.
But it didn't dawn on me until now, that what I was really crying about was not the loss of my old mattress or Barney sheets, but the gain of something new in my life--something that would take some getting used to--a change. And since then, I've always been a slow transitioner and a fan of the same old-- a fan of stability, to say the least.
So I leave you with that.
I made it through Monday! Happy Tuesday, y'all...enjoy the rest of your night :)
Love,
Curlygirl
PS. Still haven't painted my nails. Keep running out of time...I blame the blog. ;)

There's a reason why they're called mundane Mondays...
Happy Monday!
Mondays are the absolute worst day of the week. There's no getting around it. I kinda feel like Monday's are the 'killjoy' of life. You're all high and mighty on the weekends (hopefully not literally, but I won't judge you if you're into those sorts of things), enjoying your social life, only to come across very soon the universal slap in the face known as Monday Mornings. Its' almost like a bucket of water is splattered over top of you called reality, screaming, "WAKE UP DARCY! IT'S 5:20 AM AND YOU HAVE SCHOOL FOR THE NEXT 7 HOURS OF YOUR DAY, NOT TO MENTION THE NEXT 5 DAYS OF THE WEEK".
And what do I do? Pull the covers over my head while laying in my warm comfy bed and continued sleeping for the next 40 minutes.
So that's how my day started, I jumped up in a panic at 6:00 and somehow made it out the door by 7:05. And I know what you're all thinking (well...all two of you anyways :))..."Darc, you can't get ready in a little over an hour?"...And this is where I direct you to the picture on the top of the page...try fighting that beast every morning...yeah, it takes some time.

The rest of my day went pretty well though. Tonight I have some hardcore homework ahead of me, and I need to paint nails and watch the Bachelor :) Should be a good night.
Talk to you all soon! Wish me an early rise tomorrow. :)

Snuggie Obsession
Okay so...
I SWORE to myself that I would not fall into the trap of Snuggies, the trap that has the same mega strong magnetic force as the Twilight fad (I'm still going strong btw!), that turns mere obsession into idiocracy...sorry to all you fans :/
But I fell for Snuggies. And I fell hard. Yes, I am aware that with the purchase of a Snuggie I have pushed aside and sacrificed any future chance of having a social life, but the worst part is, I don't care--Snuggies are worth it.
It's almost as if by adding sleeves, the Snuggie company has also redefined the purpose of a blanket (and no, not only by covering both your body and your inhibitions). The blanket becomes a whole new mechanism, one in which gives you mobility--allowing you to experience a whole new world, with comfort and warmth.
...Is this getting too weird? I warned you in the title...it's an OBSESSION I can't break free from. It's only fitting that I am wearing one now, while writing this. Let me provide a picture for all you visuals out there.

Please excuse my appearance. It's still the morning for me.
Alrighty, well that's enough outta me. Enjoy your Sundays! Because soon enough it'll be Monday...gross.

Ps. Anyone out there? Talking to myself is getting a little weird...

Underneath all these Curls
Hey, Hey, Hey!
...Don't you hate when someone says that? Reminds me of when my Dad comes in the door from work..."Hey, hey, hey, anybody home?"...I love you to bits Dad, but the fact of the matter is, one 'hey' is sufficient...
Anway. Look at me. First blog of my life and I'm already off subject. Back into focus. Main Objective: Little tidbits about myself.
I'm Darcy. I live in New Jersey (contrary to what that garbage Jersey Shore eludes...we're not all like that, although, 'tis true that we "pump our fists and not our gas' hehe okay I'm done, promise). I have 4 older sisters that I abosutely adore to pieces (all with straight hair, in case you were wondering). They're all so unique and each has had such an impact on my life. I also have the greatest parents a girl could ask for, and I'm so grateful. I have the cutest nephews, and I'm not exaggerating when I say I'm obsessed with them, believe me. Actually, you won't have to...I'm betting now that 75% of the pictures I post will be of them. Lucky you ;)
So why all these mentionings about "Curls"? Well, you should see me. I have the curliest hair anyone could ever have, and way too much of it to even be considered normal. Lately, I've began to realize that it's not just hair, but a personality. Cliche and corny, I know. But I've given up on trying to give definition to the curls, and just allowed them to define me instead.
So I leave you for now, because it's 1:30 in the morning, and I'm tired and have a lot of work ahead of me tomorrow. Booo!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

PS. Wait...who am I even talking to?? Anybody out there?!
