What's my age again?

I'm an old woman. It's official. And let me tell you why.

1. I keep tissues in my purse.

2. I'm always cold.

3. I have visible veins in my hands. You know what I'm talkin' about.

4. I love pearls.

5. I actually enjoy crocheting/knitting.

6. I like watching cooking shows.

7. I like bulky sweaters.

8. I use "old-person" lingo...like "That's a sin" and "Bless her soul".

Yep...16 going on 70. Impressive, I know.

One more day, one more day, one more day...

Where in the World Wednesday...first edition :)

So my neighbor (basically) over at Classy in Philadelphia suggested me participating in her feature "Where in the World Wednesday". So here goes!

Here are me and my sisters in the beautiful Puerto Rico...the best place I have ever been.

*Notice, I don't look the hottest in these pictures. This was the summer after eighth grade, and just, ew, self explanatory.*

Ugh, I want to be there right now! I want to be tan and sweating and have sand in awkward places. I want to be afraid of stepping on a lizzard and I want to drink one too many frozen drinks on the beach. God, if you love me, I will wake up there tomorrow. Please...? I'm a nice person.

Looking at these pictures kind of makes me want to shoot myself, considering the weather here outside right now, but I'll have to hang in there. It's supposed to snow AGAIN. AGAIN. And we might not have school tomorrow. Ugh.

You stay classy, Puerto Rico. And I'll manage to stay warm.

Shenanigans...

La-dee-dahhh, it's Monday.

So can you tell me one thing? What the hell am I gonna do with myself after next week when the Bachelor is OVER?! The bach is the only thing that got me through Mondays, and have me some stability, a routine, to start off my week. Kinda like this...

5:20: First alarm goes off. Roll over, shut it off, abruptly.
5:30: Second alarm goes off. Ditto.
5:45: Third alarm goes off. I force myself out of bed and hop in the warm shower.
6:15: Start hair...and yes, I'm just realizing now that I take half-hour showers. Mostly because I'm still sleeping for half of it.
6:45: Do make-up
6:56: Get dressed, jewelry, shove toothbrush in my mouth--remember to put toothpaste on it. Get lunch together, grab something for the road for b-fast.
7:06: Leave house for school
2:00: The best part of every day, aka, when school is over.
2:45: On a usual day, just getting home from staying after for somethin'.
3:00: Take nappy poo. Ahhhhhhh
3:30: Wake up, watch TV, Oprah, etc.
5:30: Dinnz
7:00: Jeopardy and homework.
8:00: THE BACHELOR
10:00: Homework
12:00: Bed.

Yawn.

Wanted: Apollo Anton Ohno

Badly.

I don't even know if I'd want to talk to him (or...if I'd be able to get any actual words out), but I just want him in front of me so I could stare at him. I love him. I love his baby chin hair. I love his eyes. His personality. His voice.

It's so creepy how much I love him. But I just can't stop.

Ohhh anyway. Enough about my unreal obsessions with guys that are 10 years older than me. Point is, the guys my age need to get a)cuter b)more mature and c) more 'apollo' looking. And if they didn't have a girlfriend that'd be cool too.

Asshole.

The snow if FINALLY starting to melt and it was such a beautiful day out today, extremely nice considering it's february. I wish all days were like this.

I also got changed out of my pajamas. And it's a Sunday. Steppin' it up over here, must be the weather.

Until tomorrow...

Giving Up

So don't judge me by the title of this post. I wanted to trick you and make you think I was going to blabber on about some sort of self pity about how "I just can't do it anymore" but that's really not my style. So here's what the whole "giving up" business is about. Gotcha!

IT'S LENT BITCHES. Which, I'm pretty sure is the worst sentence formed ever, but I mean, I can make a list of plenty more so, let's just go with it. I love this time of year. The dark and dreary days of February and March that are made exponentially better with the lack of something you absolutely love. Such a joyful time.

So I though of giving up something like my Snuggie, or facebook, but I'm not about to kill myself here so I figured I'd be more rational. I finally decided, after much careful thinking to give up soda. Typical, I know, but I do drink a lot of it and I want to lose some weight anyway so it all works out.

Wish me luck. And sanity.

15 Things you don't know about me...yet.

Well since I'm still getting to know the ropes around here, and you're still getting to know me, I figured I'd make a little post to let you know who I really am. I understand if you're a little hesitant to read any further... ;)

Without any further adeu--

1) I truly believe everything happens for a reason. And bitches, I have proof.

2) Three things I know absolutely nothing about are drugs, sports (except baseball and like, frisbee), and relgions.

3) I could eat chips and salsa all day, everyday. And I think that Dunkachino's need to be produced year 'round.

4) I love listening to people and what they say. I like getting to know people and their personalities. I want to know why people do what they do and say what they say.

5) I eventually want to do something that involves working with child development, perhaps child/school psychology. I'm just fascinated with people and to study it right at the peak of development would be amazing to me.

6) I miss people like crazy, and I'm not good at letting go. I hate change.

7) I'm so afraid of commitment, and I don't know why. I have no reason to be, and am working on how to fix that.

8) I'm not interesting. I don't have any secrets, I didn't have an abortion and had move to another school, I was never in an abusive relationship, and I was never bullemic.

9) I cry at movies and at sad books and poems. I cry all the time, really.

10) I am deathly afraid of giving birth. Like, I'm going to end up adopting a little Chineese kid, 'cause I just wouldn't be able to handle it. I'm not good with needles and blood.

11) I have no talent, whatsoever. I mean c'mon, I'm not even that good of a blogger. :)

12) My cousins call me Tits McGee, because apparently one day I was flat chested and the next day I was a DD.

13) I've had my baby names picked out since I was like 10, and no one likes them but me. Oh well.

14) I HATE HATE HATE awkward situations and do all I can to avoid them.

15) I'm black in the summer, and ghostly pale in the winter.

So that's me, in a 15-bullet nutshell. Take it or leave it, 'cause I ain't goin anywhere. :)

What a LOVEly weekend...

Happy Monday!
Hope you all are enjoying your day off, and for the rest of you that had to trudge on in to work my deepest apologies!

So I feel like I've been disconnected with the world for weeks. With all this snow, being locked up in my house, and then getting a cold on top of that I feel like I haven't interacted with the outside world for forever!

Last week we had a two hour delay on Monday, school Tuesday, off Wednesday and Thursday, I was sick and didn't go in on Friday, and now we have off today for President's Day!

School year '09-10: The year with two winter breaks. :)

But I'm not complaining. It was nice to have off, but now I have a ton of work to make up! :)

So this past weekend was great! Friday night I went with my two friends Michele and Ashley to see Dear John...loved it! So cute. Saturday I went over my sister's to see my nephews, and then went out to dinner with the fam. And yesterday, on that gracious day of loooooveee, I went with my mom and sisters to see Valentine's Day (LOVED IT!). Who needs boyfriends when I'm surrounded with the best friends and family in the world? ;)

Ehk, so now that I'm finally getting over this cold I have a lot of reading blogs, doing school work, and working out to make up. Wish me luck!

F 'da Snow

Okay I officially hate the snow. And here is why.

1) It ruins plans. I can't go anywhere when the roads have 3 inches of ice on them.

2) It keeps me in a house with my entire family. You can't escape that shit. (even though I love them, we're talking 24 hours here)

3) It moved the last day of school up to Monday, June 21. We might as well be there 'til July.

4) MY INTERNET CONNECTION IS SHOT, and therefore really limiting my activities here in my house. Yesterday I was supposed to participate in "Where in the World Wednesday" but for some reason can't view or upload pictures because of how slow my internet is. :(

So before I go shoot myself in the foot, just wanted to aplogize for my lack of blog posts lately.

Tomorrow me and all of me shall return--well, except my foot of course.

My own "Little Monsters"

Hello, hello, welcome me back onto your computer screens since I know I've been on a little hiatus this week and I deeply apologize. I've been really busy the past couple nights, and although I'd rather sit on blogger and invest hour upon hour reading about your lives and vent about my own I was forced to do some more productive things with my time...gross.

So in honor of not being here, I wanted to dedicate this post to you guys--my gracious followers. Honestly guys, when I first started actually putting my random and useless thoughts into words I highly doubted I'd have any followers at all and figured the hell with it, I'd write anyway. But then as I signed in every day I started to see the little number go up more and more, and now I'm up to...

drumrollllll

8 followers! worddddddddddddd.

so here it goes:

1) SStangeland: My own real life long term best friend, who I forced into following me just so that I had a follower. And lemme tell you about this girl, cause she is absolutely amazing. We met when we were in diapers, she used to live in the house next to me and we grew up together. At the end of eighth grade, her and her family moved to Minnesota but we still remained best friends ever since, visiting each other back and forth. I miss her terribly, but find comfort in knowing that "true friendship can withstand any distance and/or time", a quote that I've stood by for the past 2 and a half years.

2) Michele McKenna: Also, my own real life best friend, following me for the same purpose as Syd (don't start to judge me now, I was desperate). Michele is my little muffin. She's so cute and is always there to make me laugh and just to make me feel comfortable, she's my right hand girl. We met in 4th grade when we had a duet together singing in the Christmas play, and have been friends for so long that we think and say the exact same things most of the time. Don't believe me? We both are the same rank and have the same GPA in school, I'm telling you, this shit's freaky. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

3) Kelsey at the Seattle Smith's: This cute little girl was my first REAL follower, and I thank her for that. She's basically like blog-famous, and I couldn't go to a blog without seeing her signature "Wishful Wednesdays" (yup, she's the beautiful brains behind it!). She has just this great positive outlook on life that really (and allow me to get corny here) shines through her blog, and I really enjoy reading about her life. As a side note, she also LOVES being an aunt...just like me! :)

4) Megan @ Megs 7827: She's just all around a great girl! I love reading about her wedding, job, and life that really puts some things in perspective for me as a younger reader. She's got a good sense of creativity and her favorite Girl Scout cookies are Tagalongs and Thin Mints (same as me, mmm).

5) RedDreads: Okay so she's my only Red-head follower and automatically special. Not only that, but she's hillarious, she once had this post about her experience on a train and had be howling at my computer, so funny. She also has this cute little give-a-away going on, so you should definitely check it out! Other than that, if you're looking for a good laugh, she's definitely the blog to follow :)

6) Melifaif @ Black, White, and Red Curlz All Over: Such a great girl! She usually writes a lot about babies and their little tiny shoes that I'm also obsessed with, and her daughter also has curly hair just like I do, which automatically makes me fall in love with her :)

7) Meredith @ (flash) pasteurized: So, she makes me pee my pants. She was one of the very first blogs I started to follow, and I automatically just loved her sarcastic humor, pictures that she posted, and the way she wrote. She does a couple different little programs, like, Thursdays:news you can use, that allows me to skip a trip to cnn.com, and Take me back Tuesday, where I just laugh until I cry at her old pictures. She's an all around genuine, hysterical girl that undoubtedly can give me a good laugh. :)

8) Ashleigh @ "Us Durkee's": My most recent follower! She's new to this whole business, as am I, and she has an adorable little 3 month old daughter with a name I absolutely love--Addilyn. She loves polka dots and sushi just like me, and can use a couple followers...so check her out!

Again, I can't thank you guys enough for having a somewhat interest in what I have to say (and even if ya don't, it looks like you do so that works ;)) That's it for now folks, enjoy your Friday nights! :)

Loveeee,

23rd blog already?

Woahhh, I feel like it's just my fourth or fifth...that's so weird! Twenty-three blogs and 7 (love you allll so dearly!) followers later, and I'm still writing? I didn't even know I had anything to say. Of course, I blabber on all day (and props to my friends for putting up with it) but to actually have something to write down almost everyday, now that's something.

And I love you all for listening to me. Although, it's probably easier to read it than it would be to listen to me talk. I have such a loud voice, and I can't even help it. Hey, what can I say, when you grow up in a house with 6 girls you either scream, or don't get your opinion heard. That, or it's in my thick Italian blood...I'll leave you to be the judge. :)

So I have to adress something, a Tuesday norm if you will.

JAKE.

WHAT THE HELL.

ARE YOU DOING.

I mean, I'm not going to say I'm a huge fan of Corrie's. She was kinda lame, and boring, and I just wasn't feelin' it between them. Like girl, I understand you move slow and you don't progress as fast as other women but then...what the hell are you doing on a TV show where you're competing with other women? Seriously?

BUT VIENNA?! SHE'S PSYCHO. SHE CAME INTO YOUR BED. (oh, about that, anyone else feel real awkward when jake said he was having dirty thoughts? i don't know, sometimes i think jake is like a fourteen year old boy and forget he's like, i don't know, 29 or something?)

Alright I'm done. I can't wait to hang out with my girl Chalene tonight :)

Monday, February 1, 2010

Hello again...

Happy Monday guys! I know I've taken a little break over the weekend (except to share with you some of the yummiest recipes ever that I can't even eat) but I'm back now and better than ever! Somewhat debatable, I'm still the same and not much has improved, but let's pretend. :)

So you see this girl?

It's a good thing she's cute. Cause she is kicking my ASS! It's a good kicking, definitely worth it, cause I need to get back into the swing of things and stop shoving food (mostly girl scout cookies, those damn things) into my mouth 25 out of 24 hours a day.

So besides being sore all over, (I love that feeling though, anyone else weird like me?), my weekend was good! Friday night was Battle of the Bands up at school followed by a very eventful meal at, you guessed it, Friendly's (yes, we're very classy here in South Jersey). Saturday I cleaned my messy study...

...which by the picture, you can tell it took all day. But it was good to get all of the unnecessary trash out of this room that I never leave, and it was snowing outside so it was a good day just to stay in and get some stuff done (though I'd rather be laying on the couch watching movies, of course ;))

And Sunday was quite uneventful. Full of homework and cleaning and watching the Grammy's.

So that leads me to Monday morning, such a joyful time full of groaning, rolling over, stomping, and rushing out the door after a 5 hour night's sleep. I need to work on this going-to-bed-before-12:30 thing. Hmm.

Well, you know what Monday night means! Two full hours of corny unrealistic Bachelor that I wish were three.

Talk to you tomorrow...or will I? ;)
